Funky Hardcore / Nu-Metal

Tunbridge Wells

Mid 90s to late 90s

Band MembersEdit

  • Paul Cheese (guitar, vocals)
  • Tim Hubbard (aka 'Kree') (bass)
  • Leigh Lawson (drums)

InfoEdit

Tipa Gore were one of the first Nu-Metal bands in Kent, at least 2 years before the explosion in this genre in the late 1990s. Their fusion of Korn-inspired downtuned riffs with Funky slap bass stylings was something of an anomaly in the region at the time. They famously appeared on the Johnny Vaughan TV show, although only seconds of their performances were actually aired. Frontman Paul Cheese would customarily paint himself in silver and blue paint for each gig they played.
